Statues of the sea

We went to Crosby beach. It was raining and we just had time to admire the statue and run in the beach. I think this statue is not a good idea because swimmers could get hurt …

In the skin of the statue :

The statue can’t see,

In their place I would admire the scenery day and night.

They can only believe in sunlight,

To free then from foam clinging

To their rocky skin.

When the sun goes down at last

She dives for a midnight swim fast
among the bright fish in the Irish Sea.

Then she falls asleep peacefully

Birds on her shoulders

Like thirsty condors

She admires the scarlet sky.

Like an immobile spy

Finally I think that her campus

As the god of Olympus.

Benoît poème d'Angleterre.
